Insight-oriented, culturally integrative psychotherapy.
I'm passionate about supporting people through life's challenges by building a therapeutic relationship grounded in warmth, curiosity, and genuine care. Together, we'll work toward a life that feels more balanced, intentional, and authentically yours.
The style of psychotherapy I offer helps give language and meaning to your experiences and emotions. It deepens awareness of the patterns and cycles that contribute to discontent, anxiety, frustration, and stress, and creates room to navigate conflict, build self-esteem, nurture relationships, and cultivate balance in mind, body, and spirit.
I bring a lifespan perspective and a mind-body-spirit framework to my practice. I believe that understanding where we've been is key to changing where we're going. Together, we'll explore the early experiences and relationship patterns that shape you, while honoring the cultural and social contexts you live within, and weave in practical strategies so that the insights you gain in session translate into real, meaningful change in your daily life.
People reach out when something in their life has stopped working the way it used to, or never quite did. As a psychologist offering telehealth therapy in California and New York, I work with adults and older adults navigating:
Persistent worry, low mood, difficulty sleeping or concentrating, or a sense of being stuck in patterns you can't think your way out of.
Patterns you keep running into, communication breakdowns, family dynamics, and the relationships that shape your life.
For professionals and caregivers ready to make a change.
Recent, anticipatory, layered, or long-unprocessed.
Navigating a difficult diagnosis, caregiving, or living with a chronic or life-limiting illness — your own or a loved one's.
Career changes, relationship shifts, identity, loss.
Questions about culture, belonging, family expectations, and the experience of living between worlds — particularly for women of color, BIPOC, first- and second-generation, immigrant, Muslim, and LGBTQ+ communities.
Support for neurodivergent adults navigating relationships, work, and self-understanding.
My career began in community health, and over the past decade I've worked in elementary schools, early childhood centers, community health clinics, private practice, and integrated medical settings — supporting children, adolescents, adults, older adults, families, and couples along the way.
That breadth has given me a deep appreciation for how our lives are shaped by the systems around us — family, culture, community, society — and how to help individuals navigate those systems with greater clarity and support.
I'm especially passionate about working with women of color, BIPOC communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people with marginalized identities, and I'm committed to creating a space where you feel truly seen, respected, and affirmed.
My identity as an Indian-American (Desi) Muslim woman shapes my lens as a psychotherapist, informs my own experience in therapy, and grounds my sense of self in the world. I bring this understanding to my work with Muslim and Desi clients navigating faith, family, and belonging. I believe that culture and identity profoundly shape our experiences, and I know that for many, it can be meaningful to work with a therapist who shares or understands aspects of that identity.
Sessions are 50 minutes. Therapy works best when it's weekly and consistent, and we'll reassess your goals together periodically to make sure our work continues to serve you.
Sessions are $180. I offer a limited number of sliding-scale spots based on financial need — please reach out if cost is a barrier and we can talk through options.
I'm a private-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. If you have out-of-network mental health benefits, I can provide a monthly superbill you can submit for possible reimbursement.
I see clients via secure video through SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. I'm licensed in California and New York and can see clients located in either state.
Before we begin, we'll have a free 15–20 minute phone consultation so you can share what's bringing you to therapy and ask any questions.
The first three to four sessions serve as an extended consultation — a chance for both of us to get a feel for the work and decide whether we're the right fit. If we're not, I'll help you think through referrals.
"Now accepting new clients for telehealth therapy in California and New York."
No. As a clinical psychologist, I provide psychotherapy but not medication. If medication is something you'd like to explore, I can help you think through whether a psychiatric consultation might be useful and offer referrals.
It depends. Therapy can be shorter-term and goal-focused, or longer-term and exploratory — what's right for you depends on what you're working on and what you're hoping to find. We'll talk about this early on and revisit it as we go.
The first three to four sessions are an extended consultation. We'll get to know each other, you'll get a sense of how I work, and we'll talk openly about whether continuing feels right. Fit matters more than almost anything else in therapy, and I take that seriously — if I'm not the right person, I'll help you find someone who might be.
I'm a generalist and work with adults and older adults bringing a wide range of concerns. You can read more about the issues I commonly support in the Focus Issues section above.
I'm not able to provide crisis services. If you or someone you love is in immediate danger, please call 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988). In Alameda County, you can also reach the ACCESS Crisis Line at 1-800-491-9099.
